Incoming Network Speed capped around 300 Mbit/s

Featured Replies

Hey folks!

While implementing the Seagate/LSI slow spinup fix (cheers to the guys in that thread!)

I came across an abnormality in the network connections towards Unraid, because upload speed from my Windows client was too slow for Full-Duplex-GbE.

Using iperf3 on several computers, configurations and directions it seem like this: No incoming connection (from Unraid server point of view) can exceed around 300 Mbit/s transfer speed.

Using iperf3 with parallel connections I may be able to get it up to a sum of around 400 Mbit/s, but that is a corner case in my setup.

Outgoing transfers speeds are normal at around 980 Mbit/s. Transfers between other computers attached to the same switch cruise along at 1 Gbit/s as well.

You'll find in my attached diagnostics file, that I have set up my two 1GbE adapters in active backup mode. The switch they are connected to (TP-Link TL-SG108E) supports Static Link Aggregation/balance-xor and I had everything configured for that the longest time. I reconfigured to rule it out as the cause.

I switched around cables with no effect. Both network ports behave the same and a completely different cable also makes no difference.

Mainboard is an Asrock Rack X570D4U (not the 10GbE-Version).

This issue might exist since I set up Unraid in the first place at beginning of this year, but I just did not notice and measure it to this detail.

To be clear: I am exclusively concerned with my local network. This has nothing to do with the internet, my router or my ISP.

I searched through this and other forums for some time now and did not find reports of similar problems yet.

I'll gladly make more tests or provide more information. All help will be highly appreciated!
