Windows 10 VM with slow/non working browser

Featured Replies

Hey there.

I just put up my new rig with:

Asrock X570D4U, Ryzen 9 5900X, 64 GB ECC ram (compatible with the motherboard specs), 2x nvme disks as the cache pool.

I then proceeded to create a Win10 VM, pass through a RTX 3080 Ti and it resides within the cache pool. It all works perfectly.. except the network.

Download speeds (Steam, etc) are great. However, I cannot browse correctly 90% of the websites. They just do not load, as if I am not connected, even though ping to said websites work.

I cannot even do a speed test. It just throws out an error. Steam downloads however have the correct speed (90 mbit/15 mbit is my bandwidth).

I tried manually uploading newer virtIo drivers, and I have also tried disabling the two suggested items on the tips & tweaks unraid plugin. At this point I am not sure what else I could do.

I also tried setting DNS manually within the VM network card. I think the problem is more like I cannot resolve hosts than it is a speed kinda issue.

Post your diagnotic log file or try to check your network settings within Unraid.

Thanks! but the problem fixed itself by whatever network changes I did, I reworked the whole thing, changed firewalls etc, and suddenly it just worked without issue.

Have no idea what exactly it was, unfortunately.
