Is there some problem with your boot flash? Do you have a flash backup?

  • Author

correct. the flash got destroyed... i am not confident that i have a backup of it either. this is the worst

Doesn't sound as if you are confident that you DON'T have a backup either.

Do you or don't you? Even an old backup might be useful. Do you have a copy of your license .key file?

It is possible to figure out which disks are parity, and get your disks assigned accordingly without losing data on those disks, but without a flash backup you will be starting from scratch with your configuration.

Do you have any saved diagnostics or syslogs, or status emails from your server? Those can be used to determine disk assignments.

i am currently looking to see if i have a copy of my flash drive

as far as configuration i can redo all that. it's the data that i don't want to loose

Your configuration includes everything you configured in the webUI, for example, your dockers. Your appdata will be OK, but your dockers won't know how to use it unless you set them up exactly as before.

i followed the steps as outline using option 2 with a new setup to see which disks were parity disks. that worked out as i had 2 parity and 3 data drives

the concern i have is that i am only seeing 106gb of data on the disk when i had several tb

Do you have any ports forwarded through your router, or is your server in the DMZ?

all behind my firewall.

And did that result in exactly 2 unmountable disks?

  • Author

it did. so 2 parity disks and 3 data disks. just like i had it before

  • Author

any follow up on this?

What did you do after that?
