93% Ram Use in a clean Win10 Install

Featured Replies

So I had a Win10 VM to monitor my WebCams, but the software was failing to start due to 0ver 85% Ram utilization.  (From Logs)

So in trying to test some fixes to the issue, I corrupted that VM and it won't even start now.  No problem.  Everything it was doing was saved to shares, so no data loss.

BUT

When I installed a new Win 10 VM with 8GB of RAM, it has 93% Ram Use, with no software installed.  I have read of possible Driver issues, so have moved from VirtIO 185 to 208, but there is no change in RAM Use.  I have increased allocation to the VM to 12GB, and use stays same.

Does anyone have any experience with this issue?

Where are you seeing the Ram use?  Within Unraid's dashboard or within the VM?

Within the VM.

Dashboard is showing 35%  (50% is allocated to VM)

Also, this is running on my Cams Server.

Make sure "Initial Memory" and "Max memory" in the VM options are set to the same value.

This seemed to solve it for the New VM.   But my software is running on it also.  I will have to see if it continues to work long term.

Thank you to everyone who helped me!!!
