virtiofs in UNRAID 6.10 rc2

In the thread above in the last post auhtor states that UNRAD 6.10 should have support for virtiofs. I've installed UNRAID 6.10 rc2 and it has Kernel version 5.14.15, QEMU 6.1.0 and libvirt 7.8.0.

 

So i followed the guide: https://libvirt.org/kbase/virtiofs.html

 

I've tried numerous configurations and always gets errors simmilar to this:
 

internal error: process exited while connecting to monitor: 2021-11-05T20:11:54.935201Z qemu-system-x86_64: -device vhost-user-fs-pci,chardev=chr-vu-fs0,queue-size=1024,tag=workspace,bus=pci.1,addr=0x0: Failed to write msg. Wrote -1 instead of 12. 2021-11-05T20:11:54.935243Z qemu-system-x86_64: -device vhost-user-fs-pci,chardev=chr-vu-fs0,queue-size=1024,tag=workspace,bus=pci.1,addr=0x0: vhost_backend_init failed: Protocol error

Having this same problem. I tried with memfd, File-backed memory and hugepages and all of them gives same error as you have mentioned. Running on rc4 now.

The daemon virtiofsd is missing from what I can see hence the error.

 

I will raise a feature request.

 

Found it in usr/libexec

 

found solution to get it working here.
