November 8, 20214 yr Receiving the following error: Nov 8 13:53:07 Brulu kernel: FAT-fs (sda1): error, fat_get_cluster: invalid cluster chain (i_pos 20047158) This is a few weeks after replacing my flash drive that appeared to be faulty. Is it possible that my flash drive is faulty again or could something be causing my flash drive to fail sooner than normal? Diagnostics attached. brulu-diagnostics-20211108-1354.zip
November 8, 20214 yr Community Expert You have been beating it up with thousands of attempted reads. It looks like they are all on the same sector. That can't be good for any flash drive... Give us a few details about the flash drive--- manufacturer, model and type (USB2 or USB3). Try stopping the plugins and Dockers (In an orderly fashion) to see if you can find what is attempting to read from the flash drive.
November 8, 20214 yr Author Thanks for the reply, I will provide those specific details in a couple of hours when I get home, but I don't think it's anything nice, likely USB 3. I recently bought a nice Samsung USB 3.1 32GB flash drive I was going to replace it with eventually, so I have that as a backup if needed.
November 8, 20214 yr Community Expert Do you have a backup of the Flash Drive? You can get on by going to the Main tab and look for the "Boot Device" section. Then click on 'Flash' under the Device column. Look in the "Flash Device Settings" section for the 'Flash Backup' button.
