bubbaQ
I've been using a very useful little free console utility called Bandwidth Monitor NG. http://www.gropp.org/?id=projects⊂=bwm-ng Disk I/O, network I/O, with current, total, and 30 second average. It helped me isolate a nasty little network I/O issue. Links to Slackware packages to download it are available at http://www.linuxpackages.net/pkg_details.php?id=11657 It installs easily with installpkg, and has no other obvious dependencies.
