April 8, 201115 yr I am hoping to start a build within the next few weeks. I am just wondering if there would be any problems with the board: http://ncix.com/products/?sku=37088&vpn=790FX-GD70&manufacture=MSI%2FMicroStar The only info that I can find on the chipsets on the hardware compatibility page is that the lan controller (8111DL) works fine. Nothing about the north/southbridge chipsets. It seems to be a decent price for a board with 4 PCI-E slots for expandibility (8 SATA cards). I was planning on just using a Sempron 140 CPU, however I cannot find if this board would support that or not. Anyone? Sorry for the newbie questions ... I am trying to read as much as possible on the forums. Thanks.
April 8, 201115 yr Works perfectly. Sempron 140 works fine as well. The onboard 6 SATA work fine. The additional ports via the Jmicron have not been tested by me though. It is my favorite board for cost, bandwidth and expandability. Regards, Peter
