Speed when transfering from server to VM

Featured Replies

Hello, i experience very slow speed when transfering a big file from Server to a VM or any pc connected to the server.

For example it starts at 1.3Gbit/s for a couple of seconds and then drops to 1mb/s or kb/s.

The disk usage in the pool shows 1mb/s.
This is reading from the disk and not writing to disk(ram) and it should be fast as the speed of the drive which is 130/180mb/s

i don't understand.

My guess is probably some files are still in RAM but if i transfer for example a 7GB Movie from server to VM or PC is 20/mb/s instad of 100+

Someone have any idea? Thanks.

This is what iperf is reporting:

Looks fast to me but the file transfer is still at 1mb/s / 20mb/s

This what a transfer looks like:

I'm gonna set the topic to SOLVED i figured out why:

Used this configurations

Set both MTU on vm and server to 9000

And the SMB2 config on samba
