Unraid crashing durign large file copies Version: 6.9.2

Featured Replies

Hi all,

so new build Unraid server an i am fairly new to Unraid itself although have plenty of other computing experience.

I built my new server a week or so ago on Ryzen 3800x,

32 gb ram

Gigabyte B550M DS3H

2 x nvme WD blue caching disks

2 x Crucial ssd caching disks

2 x 12tb WD elements shcuked 1 for parity

3 x 3tb WD red

1 x wd blue

10gb Mellanox ethernet

All seemed well but during the file copies off my old synology nas, unraid will go offline and un responsive. I am copying between 1tb and 2tb of data at a time mainly media so file size between 1gb and 20gb.

I then have to power off power back on and all seems ok again.

as it goes offline i cant save any logs and i cant see anything when it comes back up again.

I am hoping this is some kind of consequence of the large volume of file copies ? or maybe something to do with the 10gb ethernet card ?

any ideas or help appreciated. for a start can i do some kind of advanced logging and save them some where ?

Other than that loving this witht e containers and the versatility and performance
