November 17, 20214 yr hi guys, I run a norco 4224 esque case, it's the XCase 424S 24 bay server running 24 x 2tb 7.2k disks. I've been running hot for a while and want to fix it up. I've been looking for the best bang for buck high static pressure fans i can find. Was looking at the Alpha Cool ES 120mm series or the Supermicro AFB1212SHE both 4pin PWM. Does anyone have any good recommendations for high static pressure fans in 120mm and 80mm sizes? I looked at the Noctua industrials but there pricier and not as effective due to lower back pressure. dont want to really exceed 1.67amps per fan preferably. Any experiences?
November 19, 20214 yr Author Noticed that 80mm fans always seem to have been static pressure than 120mm fans ... Might explain why it looks like Supermicro for example have run their most recent 4U 24 bay chassis as 3 x 80mm midplane + 2 x 80mm rear exhaust setup... over 120mm midplane... Thoughts?
