November 18, 20214 yr I have just installed a 4Tb HDD that was in a draw... in unassigned devices it is asking whether I want to format it. However I am wondering if there was anything on it would the system allow me to mount a FAT32 or NTFS drive. In other words do you think the drive is empty and I can go ahead and format/clear it? Or am I wrong.
November 18, 20214 yr Is Unassigned Devices giving you a MOUNT button for the drive? UD can mount FAT32 or NTFS. Do you care if there is anything on it?
November 18, 20214 yr Then it isn't mountable. Doesn't mean it doesn't have anything on it though. Could be unmountable due to a corrupt filesystem. Do you care if there is anything on it?
