wchusky
I have built an unraid based on a SuperMicro X9DAI motherboard. The build is up and running, but I can't get GPU passthrough to work. I am thinking of doing a new build. I have a few AMD AM4 motherboards (ASUS PRO B550M-C) which I can use as the base. I would like to build a gaming capable PC using GPU passthrough, so I would like to get some recommendations from folks here. Which Ryzen CPU is deal for this? Would like one that's best bang for the buck. How much ram should I get for this system? It has 4x DIMM slots Should I get a CPU with integrated GPU to use for the system? Or get a cheap GPU for the system, and a second GPU for the gaming? I heard it is best to have 2x separate GPUs for passthrough or can one work? The motherboard has 2x PCIEx16 slots. Use M.2 NVMe for cache? It has 4x SATA 6 GB/S ports for storage drives. Any recommendation ideal size? Would appreciate if folks that have built this in the past can provide some recommendations.
