Windows VMs for graphical work/gaming - how is it you all connect network & locally?

Featured Replies

Hello all,

I'm looking at setting up a VM for my sister's kids to use for a couple of the games that they play, such as Minecraft. It would be nice if they could connect from their relatively slow laptops into a virtual machine with much higher spec and be able to play the game(s) without crazy amounts of lag/stuttering and at a higher quality preset.

Network.
I'm wondering what you guys use to achieve this? Is it Parsec generally or do you have something else (over the network).

Physically here.

As I have the GPU passed through to the VM, if the kids were here, would I be able to connect a screen to that graphics card, pass through a kb/mouse and they could use it like a normal windows machine? Obviously this won't happen often so I'm not interested the network option but when I tried Parsec I remember it not being great on the quality side of things - even over gigabit internet down on one side and 100mbit up on the other.

Appreciate any input.

Thanks!
