RNO Posted November 21, 2021 Posted November 21, 2021 Hi guys, Thanks to you I successfully upgraded from 6.6.5 to 6.9.2. I wanted to install Jellyfin and start streaming to mobile devices. Alas, I have a problem with /dev/dri missing. searching what it was about, I found this is due to the hardware encoding acceleration not being enabled. I found this thread : But I can't manage to enable this feature. I installed Intel-GPU-TOP, but it doesn't seems to help. I touched the i915.conf file to create it in /boot/config/modprobe.d/ no change I created the directory /dev/dri myself. It doesn't help. my hardware is : SuperMicro X10SLM-F (4 SATA 6.0Gbs + 2 SATA 3.0Gbs) 3x Supermicro AOC-SAS2LP-MV8 Core™ i3-4130T CPU @ 2.90GHz 16 GB RAM (upgradable to 32GB) LAN speed is 1Gb/s a monitor is plugged in the VGA port of the motherboard. Do you know what to do to fix my problem ? Quote
Tristankin Posted November 22, 2021 Posted November 22, 2021 Did you reboot after the touch file? You should not need to make the dev/dri directory. This is created when the module is loaded. Quote
RNO Posted November 22, 2021 Author Posted November 22, 2021 I did reboot. The module is not loaded. Quote
RNO Posted December 8, 2021 Author Posted December 8, 2021 How can I figure if something is missing in my setting or configuration ? I really don't understand how to enable the intel support. I thought it would be simple, but I can't find the How-to and the different threads are not really helping. Here I join the syslog, if someone can teach me something maybe obvious ? syslog.txt Quote
twitch_ferrett Posted February 1, 2022 Posted February 1, 2022 (edited) I am in the same boat, I cannot enable Intel Quick Sync. I have an Intel i7-12700K on an ASRcok PG Riptide. I have made sure that the integrated GPU is set instead of "Auto". I have installed the Intel GPU Top. I have tried adding "isolcpus=2-11 acpi_enforce_resources=lax i915.force_probe=4680" to the Syslinux Config. I have run "touch /boot/config/modprobe.d/i915.conf". Nothing is able to get this working. I have rebooted after each change. Still no dice. Please help! I am at the end of the rope and am about to ditch Unraid and go back to Windows. This new line of processor iGPU require a recent kernel version only available on the RC I think. Your diagnostics might show something, please attach the complete zip file to your next post. Quote
twitch_ferrett Posted February 2, 2022 Posted February 2, 2022 ChatNoir, I am running 6.9.2. I have read that this CPU may not be supported till the next kernel, which really puts things in a bind. I need the power for the server I built. Thank you for your assistance in advance.asrock-svr-diagnostics-20220201-2137.zip Quote
