liquidfer
Today I was greeted by my server with a bunch of notifications and a disabled disk. After checking the system logs I see there are lots of Read Errors that caused the disk to be disabled, however after launching a SMART Short Self Test the disk shows no issues in there. I'm running Unraid 6.9.2 (still on evaluation) on a Dell R520 with a disk controller H710 Mini running on IT mode. I saw there should be an article to troubleshoot this on https://wiki.unraid.net/index.php/Troubleshooting#What_do_I_do_if_I_get_a_red_X_next_to_a_hard_disk.3F but it seems to be an empty document. I'd like to know if You think my drive is dead so I could replace it ASAP, I'm starting to copy everything to an external hard drive. nas-diagnostics-20211122-0853.zip Quote Link to comment

Start from the top of the wiki by clicking the "manual" link at lower right of your webUI, or the Docs link at top or bottom of the forum. https://wiki.unraid.net/Manual/Storage_Management#Replacing_failed.2Fdisabled_disk.28s.29 1 Quote Link to comment
trurl
For some reason the topic linked above goes to the end of that thread. Go to the beginning of that thread to see the fix. SMART for the disk itself looks OK, so if you get those other problems resolved it can be used again. Safer to rebuild to another disk and keep the original intact until satisfied with the rebuild, but you could just rebuild to the same disk as explained in that wiki I linked. Quote Link to comment
