doremi
Guys, need some assistance please as I am stuck. My current set up is as follows: parity - 8TB disk1 - 8TB disk2 - 4TB disk3 - 4TB I have followed the "Safer Method" instructions in here to copy my files from disk2 to disk1 - with the intention of decommissioning disk2. I then tried to use Tools > New Config after removing disk2. My question is: 1. What option do I use under Tools > New Config? I tried None. However, this reset all drive assignment. When I tried to put the parity disk back. the GUI complained that all data would be lost. Henceforth, I renamed /boot/config/super.old to /boot/config/super.dat to restore everything back the way it was. Currently, I have started the array in maintenance mode and let parity check run. Not sure how else to progress and decommission disk2. As a final stage, I would like to change disk3 to disk2. However, I understand I can't make too many disk changes with one parity drive. Zonediver
From 4TB to 3TB - NO! The new Drive must be equal or larger then the old one 👍 But you can use the 3TB drives additionally - 1x8, 3x4 "+" 3TB one, two ore more Edited November 23, 2021 by Zonediver Quote Link to comment
ConnerVT
Well... Not as easily as just pulling out a 4TB and installing a 3TB. You'll need to move data off a 4TB drive, then you can remove the drive from the Unraid configuration. A parity rebuild will then be needed. Quote Link to comment
