Changing the flash drive - I failed to back it up

Featured Replies

So, I moved recently, and after failing to backup my boot flash drive, I lost it. I remember putting it someplace where I know I wouldn't lose it. And I just don't know where that was. After finishing my unpacking and not finding it, I gave up. I thought I had a record of how each disk was configured in my array, but I can't find that, either.

As per this page: https://wiki.unraid.net/Manual/Changing_The_Flash_Device

I am here to humbly follow this advice:

...If you do not know which disks were assigned where, create a post in the forum for further assistance.

I got a new key, and have Unraid booted. But I am not sure how to configure the array to avoid data loss.

Assign all the drives as data drives.

If you had 1 parity, that drive will come up as unmountable

If you had 2 parity, 2 drives will come up as unmountable

Do a new config and assign the drives accordingly.

If more drives come up as unmountable than you had parity drives, then stop, don't do anything and post your diagnostics

Well...that just seemed too easy...

Thank you for the simple instructions, that appears to have worked...
