Can not change Share security setting [SOLVED]

Featured Replies

Help...newbie.....I have just built my first unRaid server (ver. 4.7 -- syslog is attached). It seems so far to be working well.

The problem that I am having is , not being able to change the 'Share security' setting. It is set at 'Simple' and the other two options can not be selected.  (the array was/is stopped when I tried to change the setting).  I would like to set the server up so that I have a list of people who are allowed to access the server with passwords, and restrict access to my personal files , read/write,  etc....

Any help on this would be very appreciated.

syslog.txt

From your syslog:

Apr 10 12:30:39 LittleMuleV emhttp: Copyright © 2005-2011, Lime Technology, LLC

Apr 10 12:30:39 LittleMuleV emhttp: Basic key detected, GUID:

Apr 10 12:30:39 LittleMuleV emhttp: shcmd (1): udevadm settle

Basic does not support User Level Security.

You need to buy a Registration Key.

Please NOTE:  your syslog does not show an entry for GUID, if you removed that, then OK.

Thank you for your quick reply....

Thank you for pointing that out, I now do remember reading that  the basic does not support it.  I guess I'm off to buy a key....

Appreciate your help...
