December 1, 20214 yr Hello! I tried to change the web root password and followed that instruction: Afterwards I rebooted Unraid. Since then the webgui doesn´t load. Need help Marc
December 1, 20214 yr Author Then I tried this, to delete the root password. Doesn´t help. https://wiki.unraid.net/Articles/Frequently_Asked_Questions#What_do_I_do_if_I_have_forgotten_my_root_password.3F To reset your root password: Shutdown your server. Plug your USB flash into a laptop or another computer. Open the USB folder and delete the files "config/shadow" and "config/smbpasswd" (do not delete "config/passwd). This will reset all user passwords, including the root user, to none, ie blank. Now eject your USB and reboot it on your NAS server and you’re in. You can then set a new password in the Users tab of the Unraid webgui.
December 1, 20214 yr Are you trying to access webUI from a monitor and keyboard attached to your server? Or from a web browser on another computer on your network?

Both. I tried it from my main computer. Also I tried it directly on the server (start in gui mode) - I only see a "_" in the upper left corner (directly at the server in gui) and nothing more happens.
December 2, 20214 yr Author I now restored a 1 month old backup to another usb stick. Same problem there, too?!? How can that be? The Companion app finds it at least (shows fanspeed, cpu, array sopped, parity valid,...). EDIT: The last 3 backups within 2 month have the same problem. I restored them via Unraid.USB.Creator.Win32-1.6 to a new usb stick but the gui (server and from main pc) istn´t accessible. So i made a whole new stick with Unraid.USB.Creator.Win32-1.6. That works. But of course all my settings, apps, are gone. Has anybody an idea? Otherwise I have to build the new one. Edited December 2, 20214 yr by Orthos

I used the new unraid stick and copied the config folder from the original first bad stick. I just wondering why that happend at all.... I think the password change was just bad timing.
