Docker crash killing NAS every few days

Recommended Posts

Hi Everyone.

I'm still getting used to the unRaid system, and it had been running flawlessly for me until recently.

However I keep going to access my network shares, only to find the NAS unresponsive.

When I log in to the Dashboard, the page doesn't render correctly.  Scrolling down reveals the following messages :

Warning: parse_ini_file(/boot/config/docker.cfg): failed to open stream: No such file or directory in /usr/local/emhttp/plugins/dynamix.docker.manager/include/DockerClient.php on line 50

Warning: array_replace_recursive(): Expected parameter 2 to be an array, bool given in /usr/local/emhttp/plugins/dynamix.docker.manager/include/DockerClient.php on line 50

Warning: parse_ini_file(/boot/config/domain.cfg): failed to open stream: No such file or directory in /usr/local/emhttp/plugins/dynamix.vm.manager/include/libvirt_helpers.php on line 478

So it looks like something in Docker is breaking down.

The bottom of the browser shows "Array Started" and "Starting Services" keeps flashing.  The shares are not accessible in this state.

It seems to be occuring every few days - it has only been 5 days since the last reboot to solve the problem.

Each reboot also forces a parity check (which always comes back clear, but is leading to unnecessary drive access).

Right now I am unable to Stop the array.  The unRaid logo just keeps waving on the screen and the message

"Array Stopping•Retry unmounting disk share(s)..." appears at the bottom of the browser.

I'm not aware of any power failures, and the server is hooked up to UPS with battery showing 100% anyway.

Would love to know what caused this issue, and how I can prevent it from happening again.  Anyone got some tips?

Sans diagnostics, it is either corruption on the flash drive or it dropped offline for some reason.  Reboot and it'll be back (ideally use a USB2 port).  If problems continue and aren't fixable, install the flash remount plugin which should alleviate things.

I'm guessing you're correct about the Flash drive.  In the top right corner I see

Unraid OS no flash (in red).  Will have to look up how to repair / replace the drive.  Have performed a shutdown for now.

i relocated the flash drive to one of the front ports on the tower.  It has been running fine this weekend in that configuration.

I will keep monitoring, but the device was recently located next to a 50W RF dummy load.  I am wondering if the close proximity of RF energy has been what caused the issues.  The flash drive itself seems fine...
