Beagle
Hi all 😊 as i get hands on a dell server and unRAID are in black friday offer i started again with unRAID but now in the paid version. As in the past a painless start. I set my raid controller for eache drive to raid 0 ( Note this will work for me till a reboot as unRAID detect the drives later as a not matching device) Now i need go deeper into the non plug and play part as this is a known problem with raid controller / unRAID ore also zfs file system. So start of the jurney is looking for some information about the raid controller (Dell PERC h710p mini) there are already some older Infos about this most of them are unlikely "get rid of that" anyway i will look forward into this. Basically there are a IR (integrated raid) mode aaand many cards can be flashed to a IT (Initiator Target) mode. The IT mode is what unRAID want to. Some googling brings me to follow links: https://fohdeesha.com/docs/perc.html https://dan.langille.org/2020/10/07/dell-r720-flashing-dell-perc-h710-mini-into-it-mode/ There are some steps to verify that the controller is the correct one related to the flash files. Current status in the moment on my end 😂 system is powered off as i often loose the disks related to disk I'd changed after a reboot. I will provide more information after i proceed with the controller in IT mode. --still i am a newbie on unRAID (Linux also) please be merciful-- Edited December 7, 2021 by Beagle Quote Link to comment
