I'm about to shuck a 12tb Elements drive however I plugged it in to the USB first as I was going to pre-clear it before cracking it open in the event there were problems but having read it needs to pre-clear the drive again once installed into the NAS I decided not to bother and as I was about to disconnect I noticed the temperature of the drive reported in Unraid seemed quite high at 40c compared to the 30c of my installed drives of the same type.

 

Should I be concerned or is this down it being in the WD Elements enclosure?
