December 8, 20214 yr When I browse my flash drive I've noticed recently that every file and directory on the drive also has a ._ copy. Example /boot/bzmodules and /boot/._bzmodules or /boot/config/ and /boot/._config. Maybe this has always been the case and I've just never noticed but I'm wondering if it's proper since I'm having lots of problems sharing the flash over SMB. Edited December 8, 20214 yr by wgstarks
December 8, 20214 yr Community Expert Looks like you have put it in a Mac at some point so Apple dropped a lot of those annoying ._files on it. I don't think they will cause any issues.
December 8, 20214 yr Author I may clean them out just to see. I know I've got a cleanup script around somewhere.
December 8, 20214 yr Author Cleaning them out has solved all my problems with file/folder visibility when sharing the flash drive. I used a Mac to restore the flash from a backup and I'm fairly sure that's how all those files originated.
