April 15, 201115 yr I use split level 999 and min free file size of around 52GB (bluray). I do not use the drive shares, but one usershare that is "suppose" to write across all the shares. As this is not happening. Can someone help me out here and tell me why my empty drives aren't being used at all? I'm writing to my usershare all the time....help. I don't want to end up with space issues when I really have multiple TB's left.
April 15, 201115 yr Using high-water? Try reading this; http://lime-technology.com/wiki/index.php?title=Un-Official_UnRAID_Manual#High_Water If you are using most free then you 2T drives still have more free than the 1T drives. Peter
April 15, 201115 yr What disk allocation method are you using? If you are using high water then what you are seeing is perfectly normal - your smaller 1 TB drives won't be used until all of your 2 TB drives are over 50% full. Nothing to worry about there. Why are you using a split level of 999?
April 15, 201115 yr Author I am using MOST-FREE. And was told to use split level of 999 a long time ago so all drives would fill up across the board together. I still never got allocation method / split level. All I wanted was my usershare to fill up all the drives at once evenly across all of them. Not one drive fill up then the next.
April 15, 201115 yr Most-free means that the 1TB drives will not be written until all of your 2TB drives are more than 1TB full. The drive with the "most free" space will be selected for writing.
