How to configure raid settings in pools

Featured Replies

I’ve done a bunch of googling and looked at the add pool settings on my server but I’m not finding any documentation on how to specify raid configurations for pools. I found a Space Invader video where he says that pools use BTRFS so that they can support RAID0, RAID1 etc and that the default is RAID1 but the video doesn’t show how to configure this and the setting only asks for a name and number of slots. I’m trying to figure out how to create a RAID0 pool. Where are the pool settings in unRAID 6.9?

Create the pool with as many drive as you want.

Then Balance it to the RAID profile your desire (Select in the dropdown menu and hit Balance).

Where is that drop down menu? I’m guessing it won’t show up until I create the pool?

It appears after you click on the #1 device of any pool, so yes, pool needs to exist already.

After reading the faq it looks like its ok to add the second disk without losing data on the first disk but I wanted to verify that? Pool was created with 2 slots and btrfs.

Correct.
