April 16, 201115 yr After encountering another issue with parity check completing, I noticed that all of my drives have a UDMA_CRC_Error_Count (smart) above 0. The parity drive has 529! How common is this SMART value being over zero and if all drives are showing CRC errors, what is the best course of action. SATA cables for all five drives can't all be bad. They were not sourced from the same place. Power supply is brand new (Corsair) and the memory has checked out fine during a 55 hour run. can anyone else take a SMART check of their drive and post their RAW value for "199 UDMA_CRC_Error_Count"? Thanks!
April 17, 201115 yr Of my 6 drives, 5 of them have a value of 0 while a single Seagate has a value of 1. The Seagate has had the value of 1 ever since the first Preclear_disks cycle. The drive has had Preclear_disks run through 5 cycles on it without the value increasing.
April 17, 201115 yr Author Very interesting. Something is going on with my system then. I suspect something with the sata ports on the mobo itself perhaps as the drives, sata cables and power supply are brand new while the mobo is about 4 years old. ASUS A8N-SLI Deluxe. Thanks for checking yours!
