December 20, 20214 yr Author I don't know what a reference amd card means, but i have a MSI RADEON 6600XT MECH 2X.
December 20, 20214 yr A reference card is that produced and ideally sold by amd. Non reference cards are that like msi, sapphire, asus, etc. When apple says that a gpu is compatible with its os it means that the reference card is compatible, non reference cards may have bios mods, even different product ids, making them more difficult to be compatible or not compatible at all. Make sure you use the latest version of lilu and whatevergreen, you may need also agdpmod=pikera boot-args; if it doesn't work search for the product id of your card, if different you may spoof it to a compatible one. I cannot find any issue in the diagnostics, nor in the xml, so it seems related to mac os in general. How did you grab the screenshot? gpu passthrough + mac os vnc or...?

UnraidVNC without gpu passthrough. i have downloaded the latest lilu and whatevergreen files, i just looking for a tutorial to insert them properly. Edited December 20, 20214 yr by mad9

December 20, 20214 yr 1 minute ago, mad9 said: i just looking for a tutorial to insert them properly Just mount the efi partition (you can use opencore configurator since it has an efi mounter <-- but don't use it to modify the config.plist). Navigate to EFI/OC/Kexts and replace lilu.kext and whatevergreen.kext Set textedit like this, important are "only text" and no checks: Navigate to /EFI/OC and open config.plist with textedit. Find boot-args and add agdpmod=pikera, as an example: Save config.plist, close it, unmount the efi partition and reboot mac os.

It's like flashing the gpu, without flashing it, so you can't (hopefully) damage your gpu. But if the product id is different and not compatible you need to spoof it with whatevergreen kext and modifications to the config.plist first. Edited December 20, 20214 yr by ghost82
December 20, 20214 yr One step back, what is happening with gpu passthrough only? When using vnc (unraid vnc) enable remote access inside mac os, then switch to gpu passthrough, because if you get a black screen, but you are able to access mac os via vnc enabled inside mac os (not that of unraid), it could be an issue with gpu initialization only, and that boot-arg may solve the issue. December 21, 20214 yr ok, your 6600 xt seems compatible and it's recognized correctly, both video and audio. Did you apply the agdpmod=pikera boot-arg in config.plist? You have no "display0" attached to the gpu, and this sounds no port or incorrect port initialization. agdpmod=pikera should do the initialization, if it doesn't work try also to change the video port. With my 6900 xt without whatevergreen the hdmi port works, but only 1 dp port out of 3 works. With whatevergreen + agdpmod=pikera hdmi and all dp ports work.

I am connected actually with hdmi.
December 21, 20214 yr you need to add agdpmod=pikera as explained: Currently you have this: So replace in config.plist this: <key>boot-args</key> <string>-v keepsyms=1</string> With this: <key>boot-args</key> <string>agdpmod=pikera -v keepsyms=1</string>
December 21, 20214 yr Author Hi Ghost82, Unraid crashed on me.... since then it does a parity check, AND my mac vm is i think broken... very laggy and wierd startup data maybe i will reinstall the vm. What do you think?
December 21, 20214 yr I would start fresh, creating again the vm following all the advices given here, especially gpu set as multifunction, agdpmod pikera as boot arg and see how it goes. Not sure if the crash is due to gpu+mac os, your gpu seems compatible...but be prepared to loose some time...
December 21, 20214 yr Author I am thinking to change the grafic card to the Primary PCIEXPRESS slot.... I am now in the secondary and nothing in the primary. I wanted to buy a more powerful grafic card in the future. Do you think this can have any effect?
December 21, 20214 yr You need to make sure the gpu is not in use by the host, bounding it to vfio and check that unraid is not using it with vesafb if booted in uefi mode.
