Featured Replies

i was using v 5.0beta6a im trying to downgrade to 4.7 im trying to log back on after replacing the bzimage and bzroot both on webgui and on server its self still has the name of what i changed 'tower' from i tried to log in and it wont let me i tried root with blank password wont let me log in then i went back and deleted config password and smbpasswd now i was able to log into webgui and all my drives are missing and says stopped. invalid configuration then it says too many wrong and or missing disks. i just need to get this stable and im not going to touch it. it all started with me trying to upgrade to 5.0 then i was running into problems most im sure were all my fault.

maybe i should put back on 5.0? so you dont just think im a tard i had a reason why i tried to downgrade to 4.7.if it was a good one or not i dont know that answer lol

since all my current problems and going to 5.0 ive been getting this message

"udevadm settle -timeout of 180 seconds reached, the event gueue contails:/sys/devices/pc10000:00/0000:00:11.0/host1/target1: 0:0/1:0:0:/block/sdb/(931)

and have been having problems getting into my share folders i can see them but when i try to access them it denies me. sometimes i dont get this message and sometimes i can access them...

**ok i updated to 5.0 again im back in im scared to bring my array online though...it says the configuration is valid..ill wait for someone to comment

Well, first off, the security between 4.7 and 5beta is different. When going up to 5b6a from 4.7 you need to redo all security and delete users. I would assume this was why you had logon issues after the downgrade.

As for you array, if it says valid, everything is a nice green, and you verified that all the drives are listed correctly and in the right slot, you should be good to go. But, I am not positive. Wait for a few more comments before starting. Not sure if downgrading from 5 to 4.7 could have other impacts I am not aware of...

i kind of figured it was some type of share permission thing or something like that but with my recent shenanigans i do not trust anything that i think lol

If you read the release notes and announcements of the various 5.0 beta series you will notice an explicit mention of the file "config/super.dat" as being incompatible between the 4.x series and the 5.x series. It also mentions backing up your previous config/ directory should you desire to revert back to previous versions.
