Cache SSD broken, how to replace?

Recommended Posts

Hi all,

So one of my M.2 NVME cache drives failed, and my server is now running on only one cache SSD.

I ordered 2x NVME 1TB drives that are arriving tomorrow, but I want to figure out the steps I have to take to keep everything running.

I want to replace both cache drives with the new ordered ones. This is my game plan for now:

- Replace the failed and broken cache drive

- Copy the contents from the working drive to the new bought drive

- Replace the old cache SSD that is working and include it in the cache pool

Can anyone help me with a guide on how to acomplish this?

This, or manually using the CLI, best solution also depends of the current pool status.

So my second cache drive failed too, luckily I made a backup 10 minutes before using CA Backup / Restore Appdata.

Now I want to restore, but when I do so, after the restore process I don't see my Docker containers....

Am I missing something?

I did not know this step was required.

So just to be sure, I have to reinstall them manually?

That was the last step in the instructions that @Squid provided :)

When you do that step then Unraid will install the binaries for all the apps you tick off with their previous settings intact.
