December 25, 20214 yr I have recently upgraded my broadband package and also purchased a unifi dream machine pro se which means now iv got 2.5gb connection from modem to router. My unraid is connected using 1gb which is fine but means I don't max out my connection. I don't have another pc, as I use my laptop and connect to some VMs. Is it worth looking at upgrading the nic? I was thinking adding a 2.5gb nic which are about £30 on amazon. This will allow me to fully utilise the 1gb broadband connection. Is it even worth looking at 10gb if I don't have another server? I don't see any benefits other than bragging rights.
December 26, 20214 yr Author Ignore above, I totally forgot about link aggregation so will use 2gb link from netgear switch now instead which will do the trick as motherboard as 2x 1gb ports.Sent from my SM-G991B using Tapatalk
