April 18, 201115 yr I am trying to copy data from my array to a sata drive in my Tower. I mounted the disk and shared it. When I try to copy (or create a folder as an example) I get the message I do not have permissions. I am trying to do this copy from one of my pc's on the network. I have looked at the Disk Management tab and see no settings for permissions. I am stumped. BTW I want to copy this way because it will be much faster then doing it over my network as I am copying about 500gb worth of data. Thanks in advance for the help! Bob Silver
April 18, 201115 yr What version of unRaid is running? If you trying to copy to a "non array" drive, how did you mount it? With SNAP? Most likely only local root user has access? I use SNAP to mount a drive for sending backups to, then used MidnightCommander to go into the mount and change some permissions... Within unRaid there will be nothing to do as you are running a disk not in the array, so unRaid cannot manage it. Shawn
April 19, 201115 yr Install SNAP and use it to mount the drive. The easiest way is to get the unmenu buttons from the bottom of the first post in the SNAP thread. Then go to the user script page in unmenu and click on Check for SNAP. The link to the thread is in my sig below.
April 19, 201115 yr Author I am using version 4.7. I have not installed SNAP. Had no idea what it is. I assume I can install it from UnMenu. Will give it a go and report back. Thanks. Bob
