Slin
I have Unraid running on a machine with dual NICS. What is the best way to configure them? I am thinking have NIC 1 assigning to unraid purely for management and NIC 2 assigned for Dockers and VM's etc? Is this advisbale? 1 Quote Link to comment
rbronco21
I'm getting a new MB with more NICs than I have ports on my router! I'm interested in the responses you get and also about binding NICs. I assume binding would make them would make multiple NICs act as a single interface and you wouldn't need to manage them separately, but I haven't done it before. Quote Link to comment
oopsies
I want to know as well. setting up unraid sever for video editing. my editing comps are old guys. Currently trying to set up dual 10gbe NIC as direct connect to 2 computers, no switch involved. I didn't know much regarding networking in a linux enviroment before. I still dont know much but i know a whole lot more. And yea haven't figured it out. I got both computers connecting to unraid over 10gbe dual nic at the same time once. the next day a disk corrupted and spent a few days fixing that and of course both computers could no longer connect. 1 port or the other would work... ill update you if i figure it out. xxnumbxx
I run a 10Gbe card as the Unraid Primary and Dockers. I use the second 10Gbe card for Vm's. I wouldn't waste my time with bonding. I had nothing but trouble. Others may have other experience but bonding just didn't work great for me. Quote Link to comment
