January 6, 20224 yr Hi, I've managed to get the AMD Radeon RX6600 passthrough to a Monterey VM on UnRaid 6.9.2. However, the GPU name is not listed in the System Information or "About This Mac". I understand the RX6600 is natively supported in Monterey; Is there anything I need to modify to get the name displayed properly? Any suggestion is appreciated.
January 8, 20224 yr Not enough information to say anything. Is the topology of the passthrough correct in the xml? Are you using whatevergreen and is the gpu under gfx0 in ioregistry? What about "About this mac -> system report -> graphics/displays"? Edited January 8, 20224 yr by ghost82
January 8, 20224 yr Author Thanks. I visited Dortania.github.io and it seems the AMD 6600 is an unsupported GPU. However, the 6600XT is supported and requires the Lilu and WhateverGreen kexts. https://dortania.github.io/GPU-Buyers-Guide/modern-gpus/amd-gpu.html#navi-2x I do have the AMD 6600 working in the VM but as a generic display (System information shows 'Graphics Display 31MB'. I'm going to try installing those kext and see if it makes any difference. Here's the output from System Report -> Graphics/Displays: Display: Type: GPU Bus: PCIe PCIe Lane Width: x16 VRAM (Total): 31 MB Vendor: AMD (0x1002) Device ID: 0x73ff Revision ID: 0x00c7 Kernel Extension Info: No Kext Loaded Displays: Display: Resolution: 3840 x 2160 (2160p/4K UHD 1 - Ultra High Definition) UI Looks like: 3840 x 2160 Framebuffer Depth: 24-Bit Color (ARGB8888) Main Display: Yes Mirror: Off Online: Yes Automatically Adjust Brightness: Yes

Oh I understand, I didn't read it wasn't the xt version. Yes, it's not supported at the moment, nor you can try to use the vbios of the xt version

Here: It seems he has the 6600 version.. Sorry for the stupid qeustion but are you running 12.1? Edited January 8, 20224 yr by ghost82

When 12.1 is available, I'll upgrade the system to see if the card is recognised. By the way, I updated opencore and the kexts but that didn't change anything. Perhaps 12.1 is the key.
January 18, 20224 yr Author Thank you for the suggestion. I upgraded to 12.1 and the GPU is recognised!! Now I'll investigate on getting iMessage and Airplay working, then I'll be happy.
January 18, 20224 yr Author Sure, I'm using the Sapphire Pulse AMD Radeon RX6600 8GB (VD7869 11310-01-20G) Edited January 18, 20224 yr by zanzu update model number
