April 20, 201115 yr Author Agreed. I understand there is a reliable way to know original firmware rev based on the serial number, but I don't know it. The whole thing about not incrementing U.S. versions left much to be desired, but I suppose they were doing what was best for us while sticking to their contracts, all the while knowing they were about to get Seagate bosses.
