January 9, 20224 yr I have two identical PCI-e USB 3.0 controllers passed through to two separate Windows 10 VMs. When one VM is running it works great. Once I start the second up both VMs USB devices attached to the controllers fail intermittently. This happens until I reboot the unraid server itself even if I shutdown one VM. I have been beating on this thing to get it to work (two gaming machines on one set of hardware) and I am so close but this is in the way. HELP! Thank you! Edited January 9, 20224 yr by kagnokaze
January 9, 20224 yr Author OK I think I figured this out. I have a Gigabyte Aorus Z390 pro wifi motherboard and apparently some of the Gigabyte boards have an issue with USB and processor C states control. I went into the BIOS on my unraid server and disabled C state control on the CPU and now no more hitching. Edited January 9, 20224 yr by kagnokaze
