JukeBug
First off, thanks to everyone for making this forum so helpful. I am building the 5 Drive Budget Box recommended by Raj, and had some old RAM I was curious if I could substitute. The motherboard is a BIOSTAR A760G M2+, and Raj recommends the Kingston 2GB DDR2 800 RAM. I have a 2GB stick labeled 2Rx8 PC2-5300U-555-12-E3 made by Samsung. Can I use this and save the money? Thornwood
be sure to do a mem check. if it does ok for 24 hrs then should be good. Link to comment
Rajahal
It is compatible with the motherboard, so chances are good that it will work. The Biostar board is not very picky about RAM, which is nice. As Thornwood said, run a memtest (one of the unRAID boot options) for at least 24 hours. If it passes, all is well. Link to comment
