Speed issues after several hours of service

Featured Replies

so starting this weekend (and after a reboot last night) the server seems limited to 10mb for only a single disk at a time once some hours have passed. just after the boot i'm seeing about 150mb/s going for the parity check. i can copy files over the technical limited gbit utp i have on it's maximum speed. so i'm pretty sure the hardware can take all those speeds

but after a few hours, parity check is 10bkit/s or slower. network responses are so slow teaching rats to plug and unplug thumbdrives would be faster. i really have no idea how to investigate and what to investigate.

any help is appreciated

ps: just in case it might be related, there is about 300gb on my 500gb cache disk which will not be moved at all. even all shares now have NO cache specified now and it just sits there.

You should provide a copy of your system’s diagnostics zip file taken while your problem is occurring if you want any sort of informed feedback.

Unraid driver crashed, try updating to v6.10-rc2

I did the suggested update. very handy doable via the interface!

after reboot, the parity check started and currently works as fast as expected

Total size:14 TB

Elapsed time:5 minutes

Current position:39.4 GB (0.3 %)

Estimated speed:146.2 MB/sec

Estimated finish:1 day, 2 hours, 32 minutes

Sync errors corrected: 0

I will report back on the longer-term effects

edit: intermediate report, 3 hours and 15 minutes in, normal performance on the parity check

It's bene over 19 hours now and still going good. speed is down to about 40mb/s, but i find that understandable considering the 5tb drive is a laptop sized shingled magnetic cell type and it's also under heavy use of other processes.

i consider this a fix!

thank you!
