Läuft powertop "richtig"

Hey, ich habe mich mal durch den Beitrag gehangelt "STROM SPAREN MIT POWERTOP / STROMVERBRAUCH VON UNRAID VERBESSERN".

Eine leichte Verbesserung ist eingetreten, nun bin ich mir aber nicht sicher ob hier noch einsparpotenzial vorhanden ist oder eher nicht.

Grund der Anfrage ist beim Befehl "powertop --auto-tune" die Ausschrift "modprobe cpufreq_stats failedLoaded 0 prior measurements", bin mir hier nicht sicher ob das "normal" ist oder eher nicht.

Das Plugin "Intel GPU TOP" habe ich installiert.

Ansonsten noch ein paar Screenshots dabei.

Sollten diese nicht Aussagekräftig Genug sein, dann einfach melden.

Ich lasse powertop über die extras installieren:

Ich möchte mich bei der oben gestellten Frage von Patty anschließen.

Ich habe powerttop 2.15 über /boot/extra/powertop-2.15-x86_64-1.txz installiert und bekomme die gleiche Fehlermekldung

Momentaner Verbrauch liegt zwischen 15 und 22 Watt

Arbeitsspeicher: 16 GiB DDR4

Array Disks: 2x 18 TB (TOSHIBA MG09ACA1)

Cache: 2x 2TB (Samsung SSD 970 EVO Plus)

Hey,

mit dem "autotune" an sich hat das noch gar nichts zutun.

Selbst wenn man "powertop" nur aufruft und das ganze anschließend wieder verlässt, tauchen diese Fehler schon auf.

mgutt hat einmal das zu der Frage geantwortet:

Alles gut. Gib einfach powertop ein und Wechsel per Tab Taste die Ansicht bis du bei "Good" bzw "Bad" bist. Möglichst alles sollte nun auf "Good" stehen.

Die Frage wurde schon öfter gestellt aber leider nie wirklich beantwortet, vielleicht sind diese Fehler auch nicht so wichtig.

Bei der vorherigen Unraid Version bzw Powertop 2.13 kam diese Meldung allerdings nicht.

Hier war aber alles über die Nerdtools installiert, es könnten somit Abhängigkeiten fehlen.

Das sind keine Fehler, das sind nur Warnungen und könnt ihr ignorieren, die ersten beiden sind nur Informationen das die beiden libraries keine Version zurückgegeben haben aber sie sind definitv auf Unraid verfügbar.

Der nächste Warnung ist nur das ein Kernel module nicht geladen werden konnte (welches meines wissens nach nicht zwingend nötig ist für PowerTOP) das CPU statistiken liefert.

Die Zeile mit "Cannot load from file..." ist auch ganz normal da Unraid aus dem RAM läuft und die Einstellungen bei jedem Neustart sowieso wieder gelöscht werden würden.

Nur nebenbei, wenn ein Fehler auf Linux auftaucht dann steht dort irgendwo ERROR.

Anyways, WARNINGS würd ich auch nachfragen (trifft auf die paar Zeilen zu).

Ich hoffe das beantwortet eure Fragen?

Das war das, was wir auch aufgefallen ist bzw. mich gewundert hat.

Laut Screenshot bist du ja auf Powertop 2.14 . Die 2.15 ist aber auch schon verfügbar. Kannst auch mal den Befehl " powertop --calibrate " ausführen

Muss dieser Befehl auch nach jedem Server-Start / Neustart ausgeführt werden?

Ich führe den nur manuell aus da er bei mir nicht in der go-file hinterlegt ist

Calibrate ist überflüssig. Das ist nur relevant, damit man den Verbrauch einzelner Komponenten genauer dargestellt bekommt:

--calibrate
              runs powertop in calibration mode. When running  on  battery,  powertop  can  track
              power  consumption  as well as system activity. When there are enough measurements,
              powertop can start to report power estimates. One can get more  accurate  estimates
              by using this option to enable a calibration cycle. This will cycle through various
              display levels and USB device activities and workloads.

Den Tab mit dem Verbrauch nutzt doch denke ich eh keiner. Da kann powertop auch nur raten was wie viel verbraucht.

Mir ist nur aufgefallen das nach ausführen des Befehls die C-States sich um zwei Punkte (von 7 auf 9) verbessern und der Verbrauch ein wenig sinkt. Aber auch nur im 0.x Wattbereich wenn man den untersten Idle Wert nimmt. Aber egal welcher C-State, bei mir hat es keine großen Auswirkungen auf den Verbrauch. Schlimmer sind da die die Schwankungen zwischen 11 und 17 Watt

Läuft powertop "richtig"
