Setting up Dockers (Jellyfin specifically) to use Unassigned Devices

Featured Replies

I am testing out UnRaid because it is one of the few products that fits my hardware needs, the use of an older computer with a series of similar but not the same drives. Currently, I have set up the array with an 8TB parity drive with two 8TB and one 5TB drives. I am looking to use these for regular backups and a VM or 2.

On several external drives, sized 12TB, 14TB and 16TB, I have my media collection, primarily movies and TV series. Until recently, I used TVersity on my Windows desktop as a DLNA server and was able to watch anything on either home smart TV. What I would like to do is to set up Jellyfin to share the media on those external unassigned drives. But I am not sure how to configure the docker to use those drives as the source of the libraries. Can anyone assist in this matter?

You mount the external drives (since they're not part of the array) via the Unassigned Devices plugin.

Then you add an additional path mapping to the template of /mnt/disks/whatever mapped to say /externalLibrary   Now you tell Jellyfin to include /externalLibrary in its media
