APC Smart-UPS SC 1500 - Will this work with Unraid UPS Settings?

Featured Replies

So I have an older APC Smart-UPS SC 1500 and I've got the "smart" serial cable (940-0024) for it. My server has a native serial connector and I also have a USB to serial adaptor. I've tested this setup on a laptop and I can communicate with the UPS via the APC Powerchute software. However I cant seem to get Unraid to communicate with the UPS using the serial cable or serail + usb adaptor.... Anyone had any luck with this particular UPS model?

I've tried setting the UPS cable to Simple/Smart and Custom (setting 940-0024B as the custom cable).

UPS Type I've tried setting to APCsmart etc.
Not sure what to do under "device" box to be honest.

Pretty sure that needs to be the /dev/tty device that is connected to the cable. Typically /dev/ttyS0 or /dev/ttyS1 or something.

Ohh! well, that worked. I should have guessed it was asking for the serial port! Thanks for the assistance.
