Installing unRaid on a computer with only one drive?

Featured Replies

Is it possible (or reasonable) to install unRaid on a server that can only handle a single drive ever (Lenovo M900), just for the virtualization features or would I be better off with Proxmox or something similar?

Best answer I can give is use the trial install and see how you like it. There are so many things Unraid can do that will be severely limited by that hardware, it's impossible for someone else to tell you whether the things it can do with those limitations are worth it.

The OS itself has no limitations or anything if only running on a single drive.  There's been multiple people (from reading the threads here) that have installed the OS on a NUC for instance.
