[SOLVED]Chopstick

Featured Replies

Gentlemen ,

After months of building and testing my unRaid server out of an old but sturdy XT box, it is finally completed

My new unRaid server, code name: “Chopstick” is finally online and commission to service as of 10:30PM central US April 23-2010.

It is running a freshly installed 5.06b. After many assessments over needs and wants and have, I decided base on current financial and economic situation, Chopstick is running basic version for now. The server is capable of 10 slots data plus a cache and a parity.

After went through the forum, I feels the need for an offline backup in case of unUpgrade failure or failure during unHardrive failure repair, or unLighting damage during thunderstorm or unPower outage damage.

Therefore my next project is to build an off line backup unit, code name “RiceBow”.

It will take 3 to 4 months before I am able to get RiceBow complete.

Chopstick is build off of :

Biostar A770E3 with Sempron processor, 2GB dual stick DDR3 1099, 6 SATA and a PCI VGA card.

OCZ 500W 80 plus power supply

3ea 500GB WD drive

RiceBow is slated to be the same hardware.

I picked Biostar A770E3 because it did not have integrated video.

These days integrated video card is a high power device which is not need in the server and yet consume power.

Chopstick is idles at 46.9 Watts with 3WD drive 1 black and 2 green

Joint me and wish Chopstick a long, problems free and productive service.

Thanks
