Any feedback on using the LSI 9211-8i in an unraid setup?  Pros/cons?

 

With 20% off at Newegg, it would bring the price down to $200...

I'm not sure if it has been tested yet.  Any particular reason you want it?  It costs twice as much as the Supermicro AOC-SASLP-MV8 card and offers no real benefits.  SATAIII bandwidth won't benefit today's hard drives in any way.

Primary reason was futureproofing.

No such thing as future proofing :) there will be something better by then at this price.

It supports 256 drives via SAS expanders, theoretically with 10 unraid VMs that's a lot of future proofing  8)
