System freezes regularly.

Featured Replies

Hello my system seems to freeze regularly and then requires a manual restart. No more action possible, even the numpad led does not turn on anymore.

I have already switched on syslog mirroring. The last shuttodwn was around 15:45.

Do you have any other ideas? Memtest for 24h without  error.

I have commented out modprobe i915 in the go file now the server runs for 5 days without problems. If there are problems again I'll get back to you.

Unfortunately, the system froze again after 18 days. Do you have any ideas?

It crashed again. At the time, I happened to have the dasboard open on the second monitor and saw that the cpu load was 100%. When I wanted to check what was causing this and wanted to connect via ssh, this was no longer possible. Shortly afterwards the system was offline.

Multiple NMI events logged, these are usually a hardware issue.

Ok that was also my thought the question is only which hardware...

Or how can I find out which one is broken.

Board/CPU/RAM would be the main suspects.

I also have a gtx 1050ti and an Adaptec 72405 SAS/SATA controller installed.

I have already run memtest for 8h+ and also parity sync and rebulds run without problems.

It's really strange.

One more thing you can try it to boot the server in safe mode with all docker/VMs disable, let it run as a basic NAS for a few days, if it still crashes it's likely a hardware problem, if it doesn't start turning on the other services one by one.
