Time Machine/AFP & Lion

Featured Replies

Has anyone been successful trying to backup to an unRAID Time Machine share under the developer preview of Lion?

----- Added 4/26 ------

I guess I should have included my reason for asking...  With Dev Preview 2, TM no longer allows me to use my unRAID AFP/TM share.  Same TM share that was used with 4 other Snow Leopard machines + 1 Leopard machine.

The error it gives me after upgrading one of those machines to Lion is that the disk in not a valid TM disk. Re-installing on a clean install doesn't even show my TM share as a valid.

This is going to require upgrade to netatalk 2.1.2 (unRaid currently uses 2.0.5).

Do you run Lion as a virtual machine with VMWare (or Parallels), or did you create a separate boot partition?

I'd be curious to try this after I format.

Even though trick77 did it first, anyone who reports such findings publicly here is violating the terms of their NDA. Just want to point that out.
