I've just upgraded from 4.6 to 5.0 beta6a (went to 4.7 in between before anyone asks )

 

However, i've lost 500gb of space from my array somehow ... I have the following setup:

 

8 * 2TB drives

4 * 1.5TB drives

500gb cache

 

I've worked this out to be 18.6TB, and I have a screenshot showing that the total size was 18.6TB pre-5.0 upgrade, but since the 5.0 upgrade it's only showing 18.1TB ... what gives?

I don't know for sure but it would appear that the cache drive is no longer included in the array size calculation.

hmm, that calculation was not including cache drive though, so it still seems like i've lost 500gb 

18.1Tb seems correct to me.

 

1,953,514,552 x 7

1,465,138,552 x 4

 

=

 

19,535,156,072 bytes / 1024 / 1024 / 1024 = 18.1935318 TB

 

unless my maths is sh!te

 

(and I'm assuming one of your 8 2TB is parity)
