Try editing /config/share.cfg and change shareCacheEnabled="yes" to "no"

OK, now I feel like a complete moron. I've no idea how to do that.

I don't have that file in what I see as /config/share.cfg

I can see it at /boot/config/share.cfg

I have Krusader setup for file management. When I look in /boot in Krusader it is empty. I know this is really remedial stuff but I haven't a clue how to do this now.

You can use nano

nano /boot/config/share.cfg

That is the location from within Unraid (/boot is where the flash drive is mounted).

If you have the Dynamix File Manager plugin installed then it has built-in capability to view/edit such files which might be the easiest way to do it.

OK, thanks for that. I installed that plugin and managed to edit the file.

I saved it and ran the Check Common Problems scan again. This hasn't changed anything. Do I need to reboot or anything like that?

Yes, a reboot will be needed if this is the problem.

I would think so to clear out the old syslog (held in RAM and restarted after each boot).  Not sure it will clear the problem though.

 Also note that that should prevent new shares from getting incorrectly created, but any existing shares will likely needed to be corrected manually, you can edit the cfg for each affected share and change this line:

shareCachePool="cache"

to

shareCachePool=""

OK, I just rebooted my server (sorry, been away for a few days)

I've now got two problems

1. The mouse pointer when I use the web management screen has changed.

2. My Qbittorrent docker won't start. When I try to start it I get an error dialog that pops up "Execution error. Server Error"

I reverted the change to share.cfg and both of those issues resolved themselves.
