February 1, 20224 yr I recently moved and discovered that while relocating my UNRAID server the USB drive appears to have been damaged and is no longer recognized by the motherboard. When I checked My Servers, it displays Flash Backup Unavailable and when trying to create a backup of the thumb drive using Rufus on my laptop it consistently fails at around the 88% mark. I can view the contents of the thumb drive in Explorer and was able to successfully copy the contents to a folder on my laptop. Should I be able to, using a brand new thumb drive, create a new bootable drive and copy the contents of the broken thumb drive over to the new thumb drive and boot like nothing ever happened? Will the license give me any issues since it would be on a new/different thumb drive?
February 1, 20224 yr Community Expert At the very least you will have to go through the process of transferring the licence to the new thumb drive. You should be guided through this process when booting off its replacement. I am surprised that Windows recognises the thumb drive whereas the Unraid system did not are you sure it is really damaged and does not work if plugged into a different port on the Unraid server.
February 1, 20224 yr Author Hi, thanks for your response. I did watch the UNRAID server attempt to boot from the thumb drive in a different USB port and it never completes. There are references to I/O errors. Is there any documentation that details the process of transferring the license?

February 3, 20224 yr Author I thought I had responded Tuesday but looks like I hadn't. Thanks for your time and sharing the information about the license transfer process. I'm back up and running now!
