Felixen
Hello, New here and new to unraid and is planning to do a build that will replace my QNAP-nas. I read the thread about recommended controllers and I have found these two: https://www.amazon.com/Original-9211-8i-FreeNAS-unRAID-6Gbps/dp/B082HKNCVD/ref=sr_1_1?crid=YLO48H0LQCM2&keywords=Original+LSI+9211-8i+P20+IT+Mode+for+ZFS+FreeNAS+unRAID+6Gbps+SAS+HBA&qid=1643356638&sprefix=original+lsi+9211-8i+p20+it+mode+for+zfs+freenas+unraid+6gbps+sas+hba%2Caps%2C257&sr=8-1#customerReviews https://www.amazon.com/FebSmart-Expansion-System-ASMedia-Controller-FS-S6-Pro/dp/B097LRH36J/ref=sr_1_3?crid=3V587X3CJP9SE&keywords=asmedia%2Basm1166&qid=1643357212&sprefix=asmedia%2Caps%2C146&sr=8-3&th=1 From what I can tell the chipset on these two devices are in the good to go list but would love to hear input about these two and any other recommendation. For MB I have landed on ASUS PRIME Z590M-PLUS where I plan to add two m2-sticks for cache and vm/docker. CPU will most likely be a Intel Core i7 11700K 3.6 GHz,16MB. Thnx in advance! // F Quote Link to comment
Gragorg
Those both should work good. I bought this one which also has Asmedia 1166 chipset. It was plug and play with no configuring what so ever. Most around here seem to stick to LSI cards in IT mode. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B08DFK4LZ7/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&th=1 1 Quote Link to comment
Felixen
Thanks for your reply. I went with the LSI card. Placed orders during the weekend so all my parts should show up during this week. Quote Link to comment
